Description:
In the 19th and 20th centuries, it became fashionable in Iran to create Kerman carpets featuring designs inspired by European sources. This particular carpet draws its design from a Louis XIV Gobelins tapestry from the Les Sujets de la Fable series, based on Raphael's 16th-century drawings. Woven on three separate occasions for Louis XIV between 1685 and 1704, the tapestry depicts "La Danse d'une Nymphe de la Droite," featuring Pomona with Vertumnus in the guise of a faun, playing the pipes of the fertility god Pan. The scene includes a vase supported by a pedestal, with playful putti overhead, set against a lush, Arcadian landscape.
A copy of this tapestry once adorned the public room of the Golestan Palace in Tehran

Description:
This Seirafian rug is a stunning example of Persian craftsmanship, centered around a beautifully intricate medallion that exudes sophistication. Surrounding the medallion is a delicate Sufi design ornament layout, and interlocking patterns that add a sense of spiritual harmony. Graceful birds are woven into the field around the medallion, their elegant forms bringing life and movement to the composition. A subtle signature, masterfully woven into the field, marks the authenticity of this exquisite piece, adding a personal touch from the skilled weaver.
The rug's color palette is a blend of rich, jewel-like tones—indigo, emerald, and burgundy—balanced by softer shades of ivory, beige, and pastel. The borders are equally impressive, featuring a wide primary band of traditional Persian motifs—floral arabesques, rosettes, and scrolling foliage—framed by narrower guard borders with delicate geometric patterns. This layered border design enhances the central medallion, creating a sense of depth and elegance that reflects the timeless artistry of Seirafian rugs. designed, signed and produced the best exectioner of rugs of all time Haji Mohammad Seirafian, a philantropist and a humanitarian of the highest degree
